As we enter the final week of Pride month, we are taking the opportunity to highlight data gathered from our 2021 Employee Survey on perceptions of inclusion in the workplace, broken down by sexual orientation.
Our findings show that Bi, Gay or Lesbian respondents were more likely to say that they felt excluded at work than heterosexual / straight employees in our 2021 Survey (7% and 4% respectively). Of the employees who said they felt excluded, Bi, Gay or Lesbian respondents were also considerably more likely to mention unfair / prejudicial treatment and leader’s actions as reasons for feeling excluded.
For firms wanting to improve inclusion, joining the FSCB can help you assess, understand and improve perceptions of your firm’s culture among all employees. Find out more about membership.
