The FSCB team is led by CEO Alison Cottrell and the Executive Committee and, like our Board, is made up of individuals with a wide variety of skills and backgrounds, with a shared goal to work with our member firms to help raise standards of behaviour and competence in financial services.

Senior Behavioural Scientist
He started his career at the UK Department of Health, in the Private Office of a Minister of State, then worked for the National Information Governance Board for Health and Social Care, and in the Private Office of the Director General (DG) for NHS Informatics (as the DG’s Private Secretary).
Rick also acted as an advisor on professional standards and regulation to several organisations, including the Press Recognition Panel (set up following the Leveson Inquiry in the UK), the Government of Ontario, Canada, and the administration of Hong Kong.
Rick is the Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee and Treasurer of National Voices, a coalition of 160 health and social care charities in England. He is also a member of NV’s Audit and Risk Committee. He has a Masters in law (LLM) and a postgraduate diploma in law in the UK.
Director of Strategy
Laura was a journalist at Bloomberg for six years, before moving into communications in a variety of roles in the public and private sector.
Her career has included stints working at the House of Commons, in financial services and for consultancies. She originally studied English Literature and has an MSc in History of International Relations.
Laura volunteers at a local school and is a member of the FSCB Charity Committee.
Head of External Affairs
Prior to joining the FSCB, Kate worked for the FCA’s behavioural economics and data science team, specialising in research relating to organisational behaviour.
Kate holds an MSc in Cognitive and Decision Sciences, a BSc in Experimental Psychology and is also an alumnus of the Teach First graduate programme.

CEO
Michael trained as an economist before moving into the Data Science space.
Michael is currently studying for an MSc in Applied Statistics.
Senior Data Scientist
Julie previously worked for architects, lawyers and regulators, both within the private and public sectors and, prior to that, owned her own retail business.
Julie is an animal lover and supporter of homeless dog charities and wildlife rehabilitation.
Executive Assistant to Chair and Head of Marketing, Digital and Communications
Anita has over 20 years’ experience working in financial services and the payments industry and was previously Head of Member Services for UK Finance. Prior to this, she was Head of Member Services and Board Secretary for Payments UK. During her time working in the payments industry, she has undertaken a wide variety of roles in industry governance, development of payment strategy and policy and running external stakeholder user groups.
In her early career she worked in the public sector as an external auditor where she trained as an accountant.
Head of Membership
Amy trained as a legal editor and copywriter, working for ten years editing print content across a range of sectors including law, advertising and tech for both corporate and public audiences before moving into the digital space, specialising in legacy website transformation, branding and design.
Amy has an MA in English Literature.
Head of Marketing, Digital and Communications
Prior to the FSCB, Lelde spent four years working in the banking sector in a range of roles and business areas (Retail, Commercial Banking and Investment Banking, and both in client-facing and support roles), before founding a business in computer animation.
Lelde graduated with a first class degree in BSc (Hons) Banking, Finance and Management from Loughborough University, and has passed Level 1 of CFA Diploma.
Assessment Manager
Prior to her role at the FSCB, Di worked for Ofcom since its inception in 2003 and various consultancy firms including Pricewaterhouse, Ernst & Young, Booz.Allen, and Spectrum Strategy.
Di is a converted animal lover ever since she got her Beagle puppy called Bentley.
Head of Operations
Prior to joining FSCB, Karen was a Managing Director at Standard Chartered Bank leading and transforming global and regional teams in client implementation and service management, operational risk, audit and the CEO office. Karen is a qualified Chartered Accountant from PwC in Audit and Management Consulting. She has also worked in the Charity sector as Operations Director and Company Secretary, and provided leadership mentoring, strategic and operational guidance for a social enterprise and a local charity during the COVID lockdowns.
Outside work, Karen is involved in global charitable causes particularly championing women in developing countries.

Aisling gained extensive administrative experience in a variety of areas before joining the FSCB in 2017 and progressing within the company.
Executive Assistant to Director of Operations and Head of Insights
Chloe also provides project support to key FSCB communications and events activities, and works on the day-to-day running of the FSCB website.
Chloe joined the FSCB in 2016 and previously worked in the Assessment, Insights and Business Support teams as a team and business wide administrator.
Chloe is a proud member of the FSCB Diversity and Inclusion Committee.

Before joining the FSCB, Megan was a Clinical Governance Administrator for a leading health care recruitment company.
PA to Director of Strategy
Hilary is currently completing a MSc Psychology of Economic Life at LSE, holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney and has passed the CFA Level 1.
Senior Analyst
Prior to working at the FSCB, Nick worked as a Senior Operational Researcher at Acas (Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service), carrying out quantitative and qualitative research to evaluate the impact of its work, and carrying out data modelling to help improve the way services were delivered. He holds a Masters degree in Mathematical Trading and Finance from Bayes Business School and a Bachelors degree in International Finance and Capital Markets Studies.

Yuwei has an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics.
Senior Data Scientist
