We recently welcomed author and Editor-at-Large at the Financial Times Gillian Tett to talk to our invited members about her latest book Anthro-Vision. Alongside Gillian was Dr Daniel Beunza, Associate Professor of Management at the Centre for Charity Effectiveness at Cass Business School.
Gillian and Daniel discussed how anthropology and ethnographic techniques can be used to study, and manage, behaviours in financial services firms. Some of the areas covered included the challenges of conduction behavioural observations in the age of the Zoom call, and how behaviours change using this medium rather than in face-to-face settings and the limitations of traditional modelling systems to capture human behaviour.
